SMK590 rack console monitor keyboard mouse switch enables you to control large computer networks using a single keyboard, monitor, and mouse. On a single video screen, you can select as many as 128 computers running different operating systems. The 16-Port KVM switch use an On-Screen Display (OSD) interface and pushbuttons on the keyboard for accessing each attached computer. Additional KVM switch can be connected to the primary switch, called daisy chaining, to increase computer access from 16 computers to as many as 128 computers. Daisy chaining KVM switch units allows you to modify your Server Console Switch system, as your network system needs change.

Designed to effeciently utilize expensive rack space, the SMK-590 monitor keyboard mouse switch series rack console is a 1U slide-out keyboard tray that provide a combination of a flip-up LCD monitor, keyboard, mouse, and KVM switch in a space-saving clamshell design. Each monitor keyboard mouse switch is constructed of heavy duty metal for ruggedness. Ball-bearing slide rails let you effortlessly pull out the keyboard tray to access the LCD and keyboard for operation. The LCD monitor flips up for use and folds down for storage.

The SMK-590S17 rack console combines a flat panel LCD monitor, keyboard and touchpad mouse in a single functional unit. Its clamshell design uses a flip-up TFT monitor to save valuable rack space. And since in a typical data center, server racks consist of several different computer systems, it is important that they can be administered from a central console. This is where the console switch can prove invaluable, since it enables the keyboard, mouse and monitor to be switched between the various individual computers.

The KVM supports operating systems such as DOS, Win3.x, Win95/98/2000/ME/XP, WinNT, Netware, SCO Unix, HP Unix, Linux.

Pointing devices compatible with Microsoft Mouse are supported.

 

The SMK-590S17 16-port KVM console switch is a convenient solution for controlling multiple computers. This single unit combines a 16-port KVM switch, keyboard, 17" LCD monitor and touchpad — all in a mere 1U of rack space. The KVM console switch lets you control up to 128 PCs or servers by daisy-chaining additional 16-port KVM switches. The SMK-590S17 supports hot plugging of systems and features auto-scanning of connected systems and systems on daisy chained installations. It has an 8-character password security feature that ensures only authorized users can view and control connected PCs or servers. The convenient and easy-to-operate KVM switch controls all ports using hotkeys or the mouse-driven OSD (On-Screen Display) menus.

The monitor keyboard mouse console switch is mounted on slide rails so you can easily pull out the unit from your equipment rack. The keyboard tray slides out for LCD and keyboard access and remain hidden when not in use. The high quality 17 inch SXGA resolution LCD monitor displays crisp and bright text and images on-screen. And with its 450:1 contrast ratio, you'll be able to distinguish the subtle shades of color or gray in your graphics images. The LCD's lower power consumption and EMI free technology makes it ideal for industrial applications. An on-screen display (OSD) menu using four control buttons let's you adjust the display for optimum viewing.

The entire LCD monitor keyboard drawer is constructed of metal for ruggedness. The slide-out keyboard tray is shipped with ball-bearing slide rails already attached to the unit. Rack mounting brackets can be extended from 24.6" up to 38" accomodating a wide range of equipment racks with different depth.
