The VESA Flat Panel Mounting Physical Mounting Interface Standard defines a physical mounting interface for flat panel monitors, and corresponding standards for flat panel monitor mounting devices, such as wall and table arms.
An LCD monitor with a VESA mounting consists of a set of threaded inserts on the back of the monitor in a standardized format. On 15" monitors and below, these are 4mm inserts in a square pattern 75mm on each side. On 17" monitors and above these are in a square pattern 100mm on each side.
