- Rack-optimized design
- The SMK820 series is rack-optimized. Using a slide-out rackmount drawer and flip-up LCD design, the unit takes up only 1 rack unit of space, even with LCD screens up to 17" in size. A momentary switch automatically turns off the display when you fold it down. The entire unit is mounted on ball-bearing slide rails so it slides effortlessly in and out of your equipment rack.

- The SMK820 series combines several frequently used peripheral devices in a low profile
pull-out rackmount drawer —a
flat panel monitor, a full size keyboard, touchpad pointing device.
Using USB interface for keyboard and pointing device, the SMK820 series offers numerous advantages over serial and PS/2 pointing devices such as:
Hot-pluggable - keyboard and mouse devices can be added while the PC is running.
Ease of use - I/O device attachment is recognized by the PC and appropriate device drivers, and configuration is done automatically.
Single connector type - all devices plug into the same socket type.
High performance - 12 Mbps is much faster than existing serial and parallel ports.
Up to 127 devices - there is no practical limit to I/O device expandability. - Flexible rack mounting
- Ball-bearing slide rails with rack mounting front and rear brackets are mounted on the unit. The rear bracket can be extended to more than 35 inches.
