The SMK-820 series server LCD console lets you monitor rackmount server using a single monitor keyboard mouse. SMK-820 LCD console features a 17 inch, 1280 x 768 pixels resolution flat panel LCD monitor, USB keyboard mouse. USB keyboard and mouse are hot-pluggable, easily recognized and configured by the operating system, and the PC usually provides 4 or more USB ports for peripheral devices.
an 4 USB ports. The SMK-880S17 takes advantage of USB's many advantages including hot-pluggable, ease of use and high performance by adding USB support to its integrated KVM switch. The switch supports hot plugging of systems so you don't have to power down the KVM to add or remove PCs and features auto-scanning of connected systems and systems on daisy chained installations. Using the KVM can't be simpler, using a combination of on-screen menu and keyboard-mounted pushbuttons, the KVM scans for connected PCs and the operator uses the pushbuttons to select the desired PC either by number or by name.
The SMK-880S17 also includes two dedicated KVM ports for daisy-chaining additional KVM switches. This lets you use all 8 KVM ports for PCs.
Like all Contemporary MicroSystem's rack consoles, the SMK-880S17 uses a clamshell design to save rack space. The rack console is mounted on slide rails and slides out for access to its flip-up LCD monitor and keyboard. The 17" LCD offers 1280 x 1024 native resolution, 450:1 contrast ratio and 300 nits brightness. Front bezel on-screen display (OSD) controls allow adjustment of display properties in just seconds. A momentary switch turns the LCD backlight off when the LCD is folded down to conserve power and prolong the service life of the LCD. Its built-in analog to digital conversion board and external 15-pin VGA connector makes the monitor compatible with a wide range of commercial off-the-shelf video cards.
